  1. Teachers can look at the results of the Kahoot game to see where students struggled and where they excelled. If the teacher were to give the Kahoot as a pre-assessment, it can be used to see what the students already know so the teacher knows where she doesn't need to focus on as much. If it's being used as a knowledge check, it allows the teacher to see if students are not grasping a concept and whether or not a concept needs to be reviewed longer or if the teacher needs to go back and review something.

    1. This is a great formative assessments teachers can use that utilizes technology in the best way. Not only can Kahoot be accessed on a cell phone but laptops can be used as well. If the teacher knows what area the students struggle in then they are able to better teach them.

    2. I love the idea that the Kahoot can be used as a pre-assessment to see what the students know and don't know. Using Kahoot as a knowledge check is a great idea for teachers to see if students understood the lesson or not. This knowledge check can also be beneficial to students because this is the time for them to show what they know. SW

    3. Julia, Latoya and SW, you all have made great observations. The Kahoot! can be a great tool for pre-assessment. I like the idea of using it as a "knowledge check" and the flexibility of the tool is unique too in that you can use it on a computer or cell phone or tablet etc. so it can be done in class or remotely, as we are doing now.

  2. There are a variety of things an educator can learn from the results from a kahoot. The educator can see which questions were answered correctly and even the students who answer the fastest. The teacher could also see which areas the students struggled in the most and need to be reviewed. This will help students have a better understanding of the lesson being reviewed.

    1. I also like how you can see if a certain student may be struggling. But i think being able to retrieve the data is one of the best aspects about Kahoot. It can be used as a quiz or grade and still be very fun for the students.

    2. The analytics make this a great option for formative assessments.

    3. Being able to see what areas of the instruction the teachers are struggling with the most is very important as a teacher because moving on before all of the students are ready can lead them to fall behind and not catch up with the rest of the class.

  3. The reports and analytics from Kahoot can be used to see how each student is performing and how you can target specific instruction for students it can also be used as a formative assessment. When a teacher designs a Kahoot game she can use distractor answers along with the correct answer just to see students mistakes. If Kahoot is used as a posttest the results can be used to see where students need to study and where they need help. SW

  4. Using the kahoot data can allow teachers to monitor how students are doing at all stages of instruction depending on when the quiz is used. Checking for understanding at the beginning of the unit will allow the teacher to know what parts of the information to focus on. In the middle of the unit teachers can see the progress students are making. Using it as a closing for the unit teachers can know what to review at the end of the unit before the final assessment.

    1. Monitoring students over time is an important aspect in determining mastery over concepts they will be learning in class. I agree that it is important to provide multiple formal and informal assessments before giving students the final summative assessment. CC

  5. How can the reports and analytics from Kahoot! be used to inform instruction?
The reports and analytics from Kahoot can be used in various ways. One way is the teacher can see who is struggling with what area of the material and decide if they need to review the material again. Another way is by being able to group the students based on performance and creating study groups, so the students can learn from their peers and not just their teacher.

  6. The results that are received from Kahoot can be used to determine whether your students are ready to move onto the next standard, or whether they need you to go back and re-model for them. If some students are doing really well and some students are struggling, you may use the data to form groups where the advanced students are paired with a struggling student so that they can assist those students in understanding the material.
